Accommodation:
Rooms have been set aside in the hotel for your comfort and convenience. We have
arranged a discounted rate of $85 per night (excludes tax) and 2 buffet
breakfasts per room. The rooms are suites with 2 double beds or one king bed
depending on your preference. Please phone the Radisson at 714-521-960 and
request the special room rate for the Masgutova Family Conference. Separate
individual rooms will be provided for your child’s daily educational therapies. These rooms
are small conference sized rooms with a massage table set up in each room.
Families are responsible for their own hotel fees which are not included in the conference fee. Lunch is included in the conference fee and will be provided by the hotel in the dining area.
If you have specific questions or requests, you can ask for the Manager, Daisy Prestwood,
who will be happy to address your concerns. The hotel is wheelchair
accessible with elevators to all floors. It has a restaurant, fitness center, pool, laundry
facilities as well as a refrigerator and microwave in each room.
Each child
will receive the following MNRI™processes each day: neurostructural, tactile, facial, archetypal, audio-visual, and reflex
re-patterning. During the course of the conference play therapy, art therapy and
balance board routines may be included in your child’s schedule. Art therapy will be set up outdoors
when the weather permits.
The Radisson is happy to arrange shuttles for local excursions to Knott’s Berry Farm
and Disneyland Resort. Typical January weather in Buena Park ranges from 70 degrees
during the day to 50 degrees in the evening. If your child has a restricted diet, we
recommend that you bring your own snacks. The hotel manager has agreed to
arrange scheduled shuttles to two local grocery stores if you need to make specific
food purchases for your child.
Many families who have gone to previous conferences have experienced them as
life changing. The conference is a place where deep bonding develops not only
between child and therapist, but between various families who can share their
journeys together, between therapists who work long days both with the children
and behind the scenes, between different children and between the group as a whole.
The occasional parent, who also works professionally with children with challenges,
may decide to juggle both parent and therapist training. In this case, both parents
need to attend the conference so that the other parent is present with the child.
Fees apply for both conference and pre-conference training with a discount
on the pre-conference training.
Children who are very active may wish to swim during the lunch hour to release some
of their energy while other children may wish to nap during this time. Children typically
start to sleep very deeply after the third day of the conference so allow plenty of time
in the morning to get them to their therapy rooms on time. Your child will be involved in the MNRI™ processes for six hours each day, some of this time may be on massage tables, so remember to bring lots of things with which
to entertain them such as special blankets, stuffed animals, dangling toys, books to
read to them, music to listen to etc. There will be a day off on Day 6 when families
can get out and about to enjoy the local area. However, with the demands of the day,
you might want to save big excursions for before or after the conference.
For parents and therapists, days are long, demanding and filled with information.
Some children require therapy after they are asleep. Parents, associates and Core Specialists are also requested to attend informational talks and lectures presented by Dr. Masgutova and her staff, on alternate evenings. These lectures will provide parents information essential to the Masgutova Method™ program.
Please take the time to show your child the conference website and to familiarize
them with the coming conference. Show them pictures of the hotel site and rooms,
discuss the daily schedule and pictures of previous conferences so they can start to
feel comfortable and familiar with the coming vacation. The last day of the conference
will finish at around 5pm. Families may wish to fly out later that day or to fly out the
next day unless they are planning on some vacation time in the area.
